Snyder Law Trial Team Wins A Race Discrimination Case
Ashley Dorris, Jessica Farley and Barry Snyder convinced a jury in San Bernardino to return a verdict for their client in a race discrimination trial after just 45 minutes of deliberation. Representing C.R. England, Inc., the Snyder Law lawyers defended the company when an African-American male claimed he was terminated primarily based on his race. The court, apparently in an abundance of caution, allowed even the claim of punitive damages to go to the jury.
The six-day trial was defended on the basis that plaintiff, a three-time felon, was recruited and then hired by C.R. England, regardless of his race and checkered past. Plaintiff’s supervisee, also African-American, reported to the Human Resources Department that plaintiff had used the N-word. Plaintiff was instructed not to retaliate against the employee on pain of termination, but he did retaliate and was immediately terminated. In discussions with several jurors following the verdict, they were very complimentary about C.R. England and its diversity policies.
